RACE 1
8 PENETTI 5 BRUH 3 REJUVENATE 4 ZIYAN’S PRIDE
Summary: PINETTI (8) has finished close-up in both recent sprints. He has drawn widest here and steps up in trip but is proven on the poly. BRUH (5) showed promising improvement at his second outing over the trip. Andrew Fortune stays with the ride. Visiting REJUVENATE (3) takes on males but has some fair form over ground and is improving slowly. ZIYAN’S PRIDE (4) has had experience and the step up in trip should suit. (Andrew Harrison: 8-5-3-4).
RACE 2
1 MS SAKURA 10 NAUTICAL LANDING 9 ECHO 2 LATE BLOOMER
Summary: The regally bred MS SAKURA (1) showed up well on debut and should much prefer this trip. She also has the best of the draw. NAUTIAL LANDING (10) has the widest draw and has been frustrating to follow. She has only finished out of the money once in a dozen starts and goes well this trip. ECHO (9) made sudden improvement last run at long odds but seemed to enjoy the extra. She has a chance on a repeat showing. LATE BLOOMER (2) makes her debut for a strong yard and one to watch in the betting. (Andrew Harrison: 1-10-9-2).
RACE 3
1 SILVER PLATTER 3 LIMELIGHT LEGEND 7 APACHE AG 8 CALL ME HARRIET
Summary: SILVER PLATTER (2) has run two good races in blinkers on the poly. A big striding, one-pace gelding, given his head early he could make it home. LIMELIGHT LEGEND (3) has shown up well in his last two in fairly strong maiden company. He has to give weight to most of his rivals. APACHE AG (7) is lightly raced but nearly upset last run with first time blinkers. A repeat effort will see him close again. CALL ME HARRIET (8) has improved at her last two and has a money chance. (Andrew Harrison: 2-3-7-8).
RACE 4
2 ONE PATH 1 PROM QUEEN 6 PLUM PUDDING 4 GREENHOUSE
Summary: Competitive handicap with many in with chances. ONE PATH (2) has improved with a tongue-tie and goes well on the poly. This trip from a good draw gives a lot in her favour. PROM QUEEN (1) got a five point shunt up the handicap for her last win and now meets FIREBURST (9) on 1.5kg worse terms but she does have the better draw. PLUM PUDDING (6) looks the pick of the Andre Nel pair given jockey bookings. She won well in her local debut and can improve further. GREENHOUSE (4) is possibly held by Prom Queen on their last meeting while lightly raced MERITORIOUS (10) could surprise. (Andrew Harrison: 2-1-6-4)
RACE 5
1 SEQUOIA 5 IMPERIAL POWER 7 FEW DOLLARS MORE 9 ICY BLAST
Summary: SEQUOIA (1) has his first run for a new stable but comes with strong Fairview form and looks well in at these weights. IMPERIAL POWER (5) was narrowly beaten over course and distance last run and that form has since been franked. SUNDANCE KID (4) did not put in his best last run and was also friendless in the market. He meets FEW DOLLARS MORE (7) on the same weight terms as when last they met and Glen Kotzen’s runner could turn the tables. ICY BLAST (9) has shown up well in two outings on the poly and can feature again. (Andrew Harrison: 1-5-7-9).
RACE 6
5 MAGICAL VIEW 8 SCHOOL POLICY 1 GOODNESSGRACIOUSME 4 TWO G’S
Summary: MAGICAL VIEW (5) hardly ever runs a bad race and is over her optimum trip. She has finished close-up in two features behind the useful Green Sapphire and should go close in this contest. There was a head separating Magical View and SCHOOL POLICY (8) when last they met, the latter making her local debut. She boasts consistent Cape form and can turn the tables. GOODNESSGRACIOUSME (1) improved nicely at her second KZN start. She is down in trip but from a plum draw she must be an inclusion in all exotic bets. TWO G’S (4) shows a lot of promise and was a beaten favourite behind the useful Bevie’s Delight last time out. She faces a fair field her but is still improving. (Andrew Harrison: 5-8-1-4).
RACE 7
6 BANK STREET 7 MAC HARDY 2 GIMME THE FLAME 10 COPACABANA
Summary: Cape form has generally proved superior to local and although BANK STREET (6) has a modest Cape Town record he has never been far back. He gets his first run for Stuart Ferrie and Sean Veale stays aboard. MAC HARDY (7) is over his best course and distance and is seldom out of the money. GIMME THE FLAME (2) comes form a stable that is seldom seen in KZN. The mare is possibly down for the poly and is one to watch. COPACABANA (10) takes on males but won well when stepped up in trip and has a chance again. (Andrew Harrison: 6-7-2-10).
RACE 8
1 MR MASTER STARTER 3 THISISWHATITMEANS 2 TWENTY ONE MAY 4 COLD SHINE
Summary: MR MASTER STARTER (1) beat THISISWHATITMEANS (3) by a length when last they met back in February. Since then Thisiswhatitmeans has twice won on the refurbished poly. The pair meet at level weights and there should be little between them. TWENTY ONE MAY (2) has been confined to 1000m at recent outings but shows good pace. He makes his poly debut and the quicker surface could see him home over the extra furlong. COLD SHINE (4) has his first run for a new stable. He has not been out since December last year but may pay to follow in the betting. (Andrew Harrison: 1-3-2-4).
RACE 9
12 LADY BUG 2 ETHEREAL VIEW 5 AVERNIAN GODDESS 8 BUTTERCUP BABY
Summary: LADY BUG (12) has a tricky draw to contend with but she made a smart return from a break when going down narrowly over her favourite course and distance. If beating the draw she will go close. ETHEREAL VIEW (2) was back to her best last time out when a close-up second at long odds. She from a favourable gate and will go close on a repeat showing. AVERNIAN GODDESS (5) has been a frustrating filly to follow. She got it all right last run over course and distance and beat the five-point rise in the handicap. BUTTERCUP BABY (8) has patchy form but is smart on her day. (Andrew Harrison: 12-2-5-8).
