RACE 1
3 UP UP AND AWAY 1 RIPSNORTER 6 FIVE STAR MAGIC 10 ZUMSEE
Summary: UP UP AND AWAY (3) is a well-bred filly making her debut from a top yard. She does not have to be anything special to win here. RIPSNORTER (1) shoulders top weight. She has only had two outings and has scope for improvement. FIVE STAR MAGIC (6) has only once been out of the money but is struggling to put in a winning effort. ZUMSEE (10) tries first time blinkers and can improve. (Andrew Harrison: 3-1-6-10).
RACE 2
4 MAGNUS THE GOOD 2 PIBE DO ORO 8 NUCLEAR POWER 1 ORIGINATOR
Summary: MAGNUS THE GOOD (4) has shown up well in both local starts. He was a close-up third last run and the extra should suit. PIBE DE ORO (2) is a struggling maiden but has not been far back of late. He is back on turf. ORIGINATOR (1) has not been far back in two starts and is still improving. The step up in trip should suit. NUCLEAR POWER (8) is showing signs of coming to hand. His best form has been on the poly but he gets first time blinkers. (Andrew Harrison: 4-2-8-1).
RACE 3
10 CHRONICLESOFNANIA 8 LADY BOMBER 2 HOERIKWAGGO 1 KAMAKAZI
Summary: CHRONICLESOFNANIA (10) is back on her preferred surface and shoulders bottom weight. LADY BOMBER (8) won well on the poly last time out and only got a three-point rise in the handicap. She goes well this trip. HOERIKWAGGO (2) appears to have come to hand and the step up in trip should also suit. KAMAKAZI (1) showed up well on the poly at her second local outing. She gets a 4kg claimer aboard. (Andrew Harrison: 10-8-2-1).
RACE 4
2 ROYAL KINGDROM 5 SILVERY SURFER 4 PEDRO 8 GUARDING THE WALL
Summary: ROYAL KINGDOM (2) was much improved with a tongue-tie when winning on the poly last time out. He does appear to be improving and can follow up. SILVERY SURFER (5) is down in class and was narrowly beaten over course and distance last time out. PEDRO (4) was only a neck behind Silvery Surfer. They meet on the same weight terms but he will need to hold form. GUARDING THE WALL (8) looks held but is seldom too far back and has a money chance again. (Andrew Harrison: 2-5-4-8).
RACE 5
7 WOOD WORLD 2 HOME REEF 4 FIRST WISH 1 GEORGE HANDEL
Summary: WOOD WORLD (7) made a fair local debut after showing steady Cape form. He shed his maiden over the trip and with only 51.5kg on his back he should be a big runner. HOME REEF (2) stays very well and has won three of his last four starts. Expect another big effort. GEORGE HANDEL (1) has consistent recent form and won at long odds last time out. A repeat should see him competitive. FIRST WISH (4) has been dropping in the handicap. She has a light weight and could now be off a competitive mark. (Andrew Harrison: 7-2-4-1).
RACE 6
1 GOLDEN PALM 2 KING PRAWN 4 ALL SYSTEMS GO 6 AUGUSTA ROSSO
Summary: Alan Greef holds the whip hand with four of the six runners. GOLDEN PALM (1) is unbeaten since her defeat on debut and is rated way better than any in the opposition. She has been rested but it would be a shock if she gets beaten even as she takes on males. Stable companion KING PRAWN (2) is a possible threat as he has had a run since a lay-off and could strip the fitter. ALL SYSTEMS GO (4) was a recent maiden winner but has it tough at the weights. AUGUSTA ROSSO (6) has improved in blinkers but looks safely held. (Andrew Harrison: 1-2-4-6).
RACE 7
8 BUFFALO BILL 7 VIRGIN RIVER 3 RIVERSTONE 4 BEECHAMWOOD BOY
Summary: BUFFALO BILL (8) got a hefty shunt up the handicap after he last narrow win but could still be under the handicappers radar and can follow up. RIVERSTONE (3) had consistent KZN form and makes his local debut. He should put in a big effort. VIRGIN RIVER (7) had useful Highveld form before one disappointing KZN effort.. She has only been out of the money twice in 14 starts. BEECHAMWOOD BOY (4) is always game and has been much improved in blinkers. He is back on turf after his last two wins on the poly. (Andrew Harrison: 8-7-3-4).
RACE 8
2 MAKE BELIEVE 6 QUEEN OF JAZZ 4 GENOVEFA 12 BENEATH THE MOON
Summary: MAKE BELIEVE (2) was a beaten odds-on chance on debut but made amends next time out. She has a fair weight but does appear to have some scope and does not meet a strong field. Stable companion QUEEN OF JAZZ (6) has shown recent improvement and could be a threat. Gareth Wright is contracted to Ridgemont hence the riding arrangements. GENOVEFA (4) made a winning local debut after showing very little in her recent Highveld races. BENEATH THE MOON (12) was a beaten favourite last start and her chances must be respected. (Andrew Harrison: 2-6-4-12).
