Summary: CELESTIAL DIAMOND (4) was friendless in the market on debut but finished close-up in spite of racing green over course and distance. TULIP FIELDS (13) found good market support when making her debut over 1400m on the poly. She raced green and although down in trip and on the turf she has a strong chance. DANCEWITHDIAMONDS (6) comes from a very much in form stable and one to watch in the betting. WATER HYACINTH (2) found market support last time out and was not far back. She can feature. Summary:  GOTTA GO EDDIE (10) has shown up well in both starts and was a fair second over course and distance on debut. BOARDWALK BREEZE (3) has not been far back in two starts to date. He should be all the better for the experience and Yeni stays with the ride. FRENCH WAR LORD (11) raced green in a promising debut and is sure to improve on that effort.  THE CENTURION (6) was not far back in his Hollywoodbets Kenilworth debut in soft ground. He started at longs odds but may be worth watching here. (Andrew Harrison: 10-3-11-6).

Summary: Keep an eye on the first timers. THAT’LL B THE DAY (2) was narrowly beaten on this course at just his second outing. That experience will count in his favour.  LIGHT THE FIRE (6) was green in a promising debut and should come on with the outing. The regally-bred GIMME RULES (12) makes his debut and is a full brother to Gr1 performers. NEXT OF KIN (11) comes from a top stable and will be worth watching in the betting. Summary: STAR IN MOTION (1) steps up in trip but has been narrowly beaten at his last two on the poly. The extra should suit and he can go one better. WORLD OF ROYALTY (3) has put in two smart efforts over shorter in soft ground and was a beaten favourite last time out. The trip will suit and he should pout in a big showing. CAPTAINSHIP (4) started at long odds when going the trip for the first time from the widest draw at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He has Richard Fourie in the irons. VENCEDOR (7) has come good of late and stays the trip well. He is another to consider. (Andrew Harrison: 1-3-4-7).

Summary: Open. BLUE HOLLY (5) is back over what looks to be her preferred trip.  This is her third run in KZN and should be at her peak. MIA’S ATHENA (3) has had her problems but has her third run back after a lengthy break. She was close-up last start has a light weight. She can give apprentice Savanna Valjalo her first winner. CONVOCATION (4) was possibly out-classed in the SA Fillies Sprint last time out after showing good form to weaker prior to that. She may prefer it a touch further. VISION TO ACHIEVE (6) has been in mustard form over course and distance. She has a handy weight and can go in again. (Andrew Harrison: 5-3-6-4).

6 MY SOUL MATE   9 WORLD OF ALICE   3 GIVE ME EVERYTHING   4 KNOCKOUT

Summary: MY SOUL MATE (6) stays well and was runner-up in a strong Woolavington 2000 field. She will be a big runner. WORLD OF ALICE (9) was narrowly beaten in the Gr2 SA Oaks by star filly Fiery Pegasus. She was a little disappointing last time out but rates a strong chance ion this line-up. GIVE ME EVERYTHING (3) steps up to this trip for the first time. She looks held by My Soul Mate on their last meeting but can do better than that. KNOCKOUT (4) has not been far back at recent outings. She steps up in trip and cannot be left out of any calculations. (Andrew Harrison: 6-9-3-4).

6 HOLDING THUMBS   8 FUTURE SWING   2 CAPE EAGLE   5 FIELD MARSHAL

Summary: FUTURE SWING (8) was a close-up second to the lightly weighted FIELD MARSHAL (5) last time out. He is 5.5kg better off at the weights so should be able to turn the tables. HOLDING THUMBS (6) is 2.5kg better off with Future Swing on their Field Marshall encounter. He stays the distance well and looks the part. CAPE EAGLE (2) goes well over course and distance and had no luck in running in the WSB 1900. He is seldom out of the money. Field Marshal looks well held at the weights but is an improving three-year-old and can still give a lot of cheek. (Andrew Harrison: 6-8-2-5).

RACE 8

2 ROSH KEDESH   1 SERPENTINE FIRE   10 HONOR OF KINGS   13 RED MOUNTAIN

Summary: Competitive handicap. ROSH KEDESH (2) is down in class and has shown up well in two KZN starts. He should be primed for this. HONOR OF KINGS (10) was not far back when starting favourite last run. The extra furlong will suit and he can make amends. SERPINTINE FIRE (1) is 1.5kg better off with Honor Of Kings for a length beating. There should be very little in it this time around with Serpentine Fire having the better draw this time around. RED MOUNTIAN (13) is never far back and although drawn wide he has a 4kg claimer aboard and the blinkers are back on. (Andrew Harrison: 2-1-10-13).

RACE 1

(6) WISHES AND DREAMS wasn’t far on debut and will get much closer having that run under the belt. (4) MAKE BELIEVE is another who ran well on debut and will be right there. (5) MONEY GALORE ran well on debut and will be a lively challenger here. (1) AMIOK gets an eye-catching jockey booking in the form of Craig Zackey, she should get much closer. RACE 2

(8) MASTER WIZARD hasn’t been far in recent starts, he has the best draw and plenty scope to get much closer hence he is the value selection. (2) GREEN OKRA ran well on provincial debut and will be a strong contender for top honours, he will go close so respect. (1) GRAND ALLEGRO has been knocking on the door and will have a big chance here. (3) BROOKSIDER is never far back and can get into the placings. (Devonne Govender 8-2-1-3)

RACE 3

(4) HAT MONTERA is capable of much and will be the firm first choice. She had a wide draw to negotiate in her last start and that run is best ignored. She has performed well on the turf and with the in-form claiming apprentice she represents value. (5) BATTLE OF BRITAIN has plenty scope to improve and must be respected in this contest. (3) FANTASY GIRL is never far back and steps up in distance so could get much closer. (7) CHEAP THRILLS ran a cracker in the last start and if repeating that will be a huge runner. RACE 4

• JACK IN THE GREEN has been holding solid form. He won a gutsy race in the last start and despite the fact that he has a tough draw he will be in the firing line. (9) RED WILLIAM is knocking on the door for another career win, his recent form has been good and he will have a big chance. (5) SLAINTE MHATH was an impressive winner in the last start, he has a decent draw and will be a huge contender. (6) ROLL OF THE DICE is never far back, he is a very honest type and he will be in the mix. (Devonne Govender 1-9-5-6)

(4) DARLING HARBOUR is holding solid form and will have a strong winning chance, she seems to go well on poly however she has had some tough draws in recent turf starts so will have to be respected. (1) LADY ZULTANITE has a good draw with solid form, she also gets an in-form apprentice aboard so there’s plenty to like about her chances. (9) TAKE YOUR TIME has been racing consistently and another bold showing is expected. (5) THREE CHEERS is very capable on her day and must go into everything. (Devonne Govender 4-1-9-5)

(4) STRATA is holding solid form and is capable of a big finish on her day, she is the firm first choice. (5) SHARAPOVA is holding consistent form and must be included in all bets. (7) JAMBO SANA is very capable on her day, some of her better form has been on the poly so she will be a huge runner. (9) THREAD OF LIFE has never been far back and can run into the placings. (8) FINAL EDITION is holding form and was unlucky in the last start. He could be tough to beat here. (9) HOLOCENE is another who is in great form and rates a winning chance, he will be the main danger to the top selection. (11) BOSNAY is very capable on her day and can make the placings. (4) WAZ WOUTER won a gutsy racing in the last start and can make the frame again. (Devonne Govender 8-9-11-4)

(11) BRETTY ran a cracker in the last start coming from well back in the field, a repeat of that will see her go close. (6) ICE CAP is holding consistent form and will be in the firing line in an open looking race. (1) COURAGEOUS is never far back and can go very close on best form. (8) CITY OF DREAMS has run extremely well in the province and is another with a big wining chance. (13) PERFECT TRUST is a game front runner and can fill in the placings. There’s no denying that War Machine has reached new heights since heading north to Queensland under the guidance of the accomplished Team Hawkes. Just how far this exciting four-year-old has come will be revealed this Saturday in Queensland’s richest and most prestigious race, the $3 million Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm. Adding to the intrigue, Tim Clark, one of Australia’s most experienced big-race jockeys, takes the reigns for the first time aboard War Machine as he has his first crack at the Eagle Farm track. He’ll face off against a stellar field, including the local hero Rothfire, now partnered by James McDonald, who ironically denied Rothfire victory aboard Sunshine In Paris in last month’s Group 1 Doomben 10,000. Among the most consistent threats is Kimochi, to be ridden by Craig Williams. While she’s yet to break through this season, the talented mare has loomed large in every start and looks primed to peak this Saturday.

The Stradbroke headlines an electric program and comes up as Race 8 on a stacked Eagle Farm card that also features the Group 1 JJ Atkins for two-year-olds. The race acts as a season finale for this year’s juvenile stars, with local sensation Cool Archie gunning for his fifth straight win.

In a major boost to the meeting, the World Pool will be active on the Stradbroke and the Group 2 Q22, showcasing the very best of Queensland racing to international wagering markets.
