Created by the amalgamation of three of South Africa’s top Racing Clubs, namely the Durban Turf Club, the Clairwood Turf Club and the Pietermaritzburg Turf Club, Gold Circle is today part of a multi-faceted and integrated industry, organising thoroughbred horseracing events throughout KwaZulu-Natal and is renowned for staging the Vodacom Durban July at Greyville Racecourse every year.
Since its inception in 1996, Gold Circle has grown from strength to strength and was recently recognised by the FNB KZN Top Business Awards committee for their contribution to the sustained economic growth of KwaZulu-Natal in the Recreation, Education and Social Services Sector.
As a licensed gaming operator, Gold Circle is regulated by the KwaZulu – Natal Gaming and Betting Act, 2010 (Act No. 08 of 2010).
Horseracing staged by Gold Circle is conducted under the rules of the National Horseracing Authority of South Africa. Gold Circle supports the National Responsible Gambling Programme.
