4th 5,60 Born To Perform (Kennedy/Bosch SP 60kg draw 5) This unraced four-year-old gelding is by Silvano out of the great VDJ winner Dancer’s Daughter. She looks like his mother, being a powerfully built grey, and stayed on in eyecatching fashion without being asked any questions although he will obviously appreciate further 63.22

5th 6,85 Letaba (Dillon/Humby A 59kg draw 2) Started slowly but then showed some natural pace and a fair action, although was green and just held together. 63.41 seconds

Barrier trial Greyville poly 1000m 25/11/2018 1st trial

1st She’s A Crusade (Ngwane/Bestel S 58kg draw 2) This unraced Crusade filly is out of the Grade 3 Godolphin Barb winner She’s A Winner. She is not tall but has some substance and led from the off showing a good action. When challenged she stepped it up a gear so has a winning attitude and this was a pleasing trial overall. 60.4 seconds

2nd 0,15 Mashari (Moodley/Puller MR59 A 60kg draw 9) This Kahal gelding is out of the Grade 2-winning sprinter Chat De Nuis and won on debut over 1400m. She is quite tall and has scope and did it effortlessly throughout so she must be watched off a merit rating of only 60 which she is likely capable of rising above. 60.41 seconds

3rd 0,90 Father’s Frost (Veale/Naidoo A 60kg draw 1) This unraced Dynasty gelding is already a four-year-old. He showed some pace but had to be pushed along to maintain his position just behind the leader. 60.6 seconds

4th 7,40 Clancy (Sakayi -2.5 kg/Van Wyk A 59kg draw 7) This unraced Great Britain colt is quite tall and still immature. Showed some pace but was unable to keep up with the front trio in the final stages. 61.6 seconds

5th 7,90 Winter Retreat (Samuel/Humby A 58kg draw 4) This unraced What A Winter filly has some substance and a nice action. She dwelt and was then just held together before staying on effortlessly albeit in a slow time. 61.7 seconds

6th 8,40 Blackberry Winter (Wright/Nel S 58kg draw 5) This unraced Silvano filly had one previous trial. She dwelt but showed some zip and some acceleration in the straight. She doesn’t have the biggest action and is out of Western Winter mare Winter Burst who won the Grade 3 Prix du Cap over 1400m so it is difficult to assess her likely most suitable distance. 61.8 seconds

7th 8,65 Gentleman’s Way (Jacobs -4 kg/Wright S 59kg draw 11) This Pathfork colt is out of a one-time winning Dynasty filly who is a half-sister to Grade 1-winning sprint-miler On Her Toes. He was unruly before a poor debut and having his first outing for a new yard here he reared up upon jumping. However, he then displayed some zip and although green he looks to have a fair action and some acceleration so should improve on his debut effort. 61.81 seconds

8th 9,15 Clara (Lembethe/Rivalland A 58kg draw 6) This unraced Ideal World filly is tall and rangy like most Ideal Worlds and will need further. 61.9 seconds

9th 10,90 Jus Leave It To Me (Ferraris -1.5 kg/Humby A 58kg draw 8) This unraced Pomodoro filly was slow away and was then just held together. She is tall and has a fair action and has scope for improvement. 62.1 seconds

10th 14,65 Extra Mile (Ramzan -4 kg/Hill SB 59kg draw 10) This unraced Ashaawes gelding was well beaten in one previous trial and the blinkers were on this time. He displayed quite a big action but was green and running around so the penny still has to drop. 62.7 seconds

11th 23,40 Irish Rose (De Melo/Drier S 58kg draw 3) This unraced Irish Flame filly is small but displays a fairly big action. However, she was green and outpaced and like her sire will need further despite being out of a Western Winter twice-winning sprinter. 64.1 seconds

Barrier trial Greyville poly 1000m 25/11/2018 2nd trial

1st Blackball (Kennedy/Van Zyl MR94 S 60kg draw 9) 60.1 seconds. He jumped awkwardly and was near the back but moved through smoothly and looks to be in good shape.

2nd 0,75 Founding Father (Ferraris -1.5 kg/Bosch MR83 AB  60kg draw 10) Showed fair pace from a wide draw and strode out quite well in his first outing for over two months. 60.23 seconds

3rd 1,00 Dyno Man (Moodley/Puller MR71 A 60kg draw 5) He displayed a nice rhythm throughout in his first outing since winning his maiden in early August. He will come on from this trial and as a four-year-old he looks to have a reasonable opening handicap mark. 60,27 seconds

4th 1,25 Ryker (Hewitson/Puller MR93 A 60kg draw 2) Got into the lead effortlessly and strode out well throughout while just being held together. It was his first outing since finishing sixth in the Byerley Turk in April and he will come on from it. 60.31 seconds

5th 2,00 African Pharaoh (Lerena/Bosch MR73 AB 60kg draw 8) Was second last turning for home but made up ground late under driving. Strode out well. 60.43 seconds

7th 3,75 Lineker (AUS) (Randolph/Wright MR80 s 60kg draw 11) He jumped slowly as usual and then strode out quite well but needed it as it was his first outing since March. 60.73 seconds

8th 3,85 Waywood (Wright/Humby MR83 s 60kg draw 12) In his first outing since winning twice in a row in May and June he looked around a bit early but thereafter strode out well. 60.74 seconds

9th 4,00 Lilibet (Mohapi/Kotzen MR61 SCt 59kg draw 3) This hard knocking maiden jumped well and was up with the pace but amongst some useful horses had to be driven in the straight and lost a few positions. 60.77 seconds

10th 5,75 Ideal Winter (Jacobson/Van Zyl (Jnr) MR82 sB 59kg draw 7) He was just held together in his first outing since June and strode out quite well over too sharp a trip. 61.06 seconds

11th 7,75 Ontopoftheworld (De Melo/Drier D 59kg draw 4) This Jackson gelding faded badly in his only start over 1200m in heavy going in April and among some useful horses here he was slow away before galloping into a midfield position and then dropped back in the straight when just being held together. He can improve but as his pedigree suggests he will need a lot further. 61.39 seconds

12th 9,50 Golden Galaxy (Samuel/Bosch A 59kg draw 1) This Trippi filly has been well beaten in both her starts and in her first outing since May didn’t stride out particularly well and dropped back in the straight. 61.68 seconds
