Okavango was a surprise recent scratching from the Gr 1 R10 million Hollywoodbets Durban July as he had been in fine form and was in position five on the first Hollywoodbets Durban July log.

He had won the Gr 2 Anthonij Rupert Premier Trophy over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, before running fourth in the WSB Met, and he then won the Listed Kings Cup over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, before running a fine second to Met winner See It Again in the Gr 1 wfa Premier’s Champions Challenge at Turffontein, and he followed that with victory over high profile stablemate Eight On Eighteen in a Conditions Plate over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville.

Jonathan Snaith said about the four-year-old Master Of My Fate gelding, “He is unsound and will return to racing in the Cape Summer and will be aimed at the WSB Met.”
