Punters face a very competitive card on the poly at Hollywoodbets Greyville today. The card is headed by a Progress Plate over 1400m where Justin Snaith’s charge Powerandtheglory should feature.

He has the widest draw to contend with but has some solid form in good company in the Cape and with first time blinkers he should be right up there if taking to the poly.

Dean Kannemeyer’s charge Hah Lah Lah is unbeaten in two and beat a useful sort in JP’s Palace on the poly last time out. He could find it tough at these weights but he does look progressive. Vapour Trail is another that gets first time blinkers. His last two starts are not inspiring but he can make big improvement along with Good For You  who is smart on his day and much better than his last two suggest and he can surprise.

In the card opener, Louis Goosen’s filly Meeksha could be one of the better bets on a tough card. She has shown up well in both starts and did well on the poly last time out. Kom Naidoo’s gelding Tiger Kody made marked improvement in first time blinkers and may be the biggest danger.

In the first leg of the PA, Gimme The Power showed up well first run over course and distance and has been competitive of late. However, a win has been elusive. Greek Heiress has run well on the poly and improved with the blinkers removed last run. She has drawn well while Queen’s Bounty  steps up to a trip that should suit and she caught the eye last time out.

Lilting Song takes on males in the third and did well from a wide draw last time out. She goes well on the poly and has a light weight. Cape visitor Hunga Tonga has her first start on the poly but won well on her local debut for smart trainer Ricky Maingard who had a double on Saturday. Pied Piper has a wide draw to contend with but loves the poly and with a claiming apprentice up will be a contender.

The fourth is competitive. Send Me is struggling for his second win but has shown recent improvement in blinkers and started favourite last time out.  Ragnar The King has a wide draw but was much improved last run. One to watch is Gardner’s Pride who has the widest draw but is back on his preferred surface.

In the fifth, Take Your Place has dropped in the handicap and gets first time blinkers and could get the better of the consistent Trafalgar Square who goes well over course and distance and is never far back. Victor Rail has put in two smart recent efforts to stronger but does go up in the weights.

In the seventh, Siberian Winter is long overdue but does go well over course and distance and should win soon. Princess Goldie was running on well under a big weight last run. She does take on stronger but has a handy weight from the best of the draw. Landonne has won her last two but goes on the poly for the first time. She got a five-point increase for her last win which is a concern. Last Car To Pass has her first outing for a new stable and has steady Highveld form but she does have a big weight and a wide draw on her poly debut.

Navajo Dancer can round off the card as he needed his last run but has run well on the poly and good form before his break. He has a wide draw but has a light weight. Meerkat Moon has improved in blinkers and has run on the poly and the form has held up. Dapper is the perennial under-achiever and had every chance behind Ultra Quick last start but is 4kg better off with Ultra Quick who also lines up again.
