Racing South Africa Thoroughbred Expo ‘08

Racing South Africa is pleased to announce that the Racing South Africa Thoroughbred Expo 2008 will be held at Greyville Racecourse from Thursday July 31 to Saturday August 2.

The aim of the Expo is to present the many facets of the thoroughbred horseracing industry to the general public. Apart from the numerous Trade Stands situated in the Champion’s Room, there will be live exhibitions and a seminar component all culminating on Canon Gold Cup Day. A dominant theme of the Expo is education and career opportunities within the industry. It also aims to expose investment opportunities and is the beginning of a three-year plan to promote horseracing as a major sport in South Africa.

Leading up to the Racing South Africa Thoroughbred Expo 2008 is the Charity Turf Challenge, an exciting competition that offers fans of the sport a unique opportunity to select 10 horses out of a selected group of qualifying horses and follow them throughout the 2008 KwaZulu-Natal Winter Racing Season. Not dissimilar to the Fantasy Football concept, the winner of the Challenge will receive a R50 000 prize and there will also be a number of spot prizes along the way.
