Van Zyl holding thumbs
The Gavin Van Zyl-trained Silvano gelding Bulsara is another KZN horse entered in Saturday’s in R1 million Daily News 2000 to be run at Greyville and who will be among the race's main contenders and with his fine turn of foot he looks a Greyville type of a horse.
He should comfortably see out the trip, considering he ran second to Pierre Jourdan in the SA Classic over the tough Turffontein 1800m.
He ran an encouraging race last time over the 1400m at Greyville when receiving just 1kg from the mighty Pocket Power and finishing just three lengths back from a wide draw.
On Saturday he is well drawn in two with Gavin Lerena aboard.
"He has improved with gelding and it seems to have settled him," said Van Zyl. "He is the sort of horse that will enjoy an inside draw. We will just have to hold thumbs." – Gold Circle Publishing
