Fallon has faith in Seta
Kieren Fallon has urged punters not to lose faith with Luca Cumani’s Seta after her eclipse at Doncaster.
After an eight-length maiden win she was favourite with some bookmakers for next year’s 1000 Guineas but could only finish third on Town Moor in the May Hill Stakes behind Richard Hannon’s Pollenator.
“She’s just grown so much since she won her maiden and when they grow they just go a bit weak,” said Fallon.
“When she hit the front I thought she was going to go away and do it easy, but she just swam around a bit.
“I’ve not lost faith, I know how good she is.”
Reflecting on the early days of his comeback, in which he rode 12 winners in a spell of just eight days, Fallon admitted he have overloaded his schedule a bit riding at two meetings a day.
“I just think at the moment I might have done a bit too much, too many rides too quickly in order to get race-fit. There is only one way to do that,” he told At The Races.
“Dave (Pollington, agent) has been busy and we’re getting lots of good rides, they’ve been entitled to win.
“When you get offered good rides you don’t know which ones to turn down as there is always something that wins and then you are gutted and we were just trying too hard really.
“After the first day I thought I’d be a little bit stiff and I was tired in the evening, but I woke up well in the morning. It’s just getting back into the swing of things and finding the pattern of the race, it’s coming back quickly.
“To ride 12 winners in a week is great. When I was riding at the top of my game I’d have been happy with that.”
