Exclaim‘N’Exclude can steal the show - part 2 of 2
David Thiselton - continues from part 1
Puller made him a big runner, although he sounded a word of caution saying that the yard’s horses were generally showing slightly elevated muscle enzyme counts and were running slightly below par. Blue Empress hasn’t shown much in two runs but the yard said she was a hard trier.
Miss Diana wasn’t disgraced last time and could earn.
In the fourth, a handicap over 1 600m, the Paul Matchett-trained Xilomante has some consistent Jo’burg form off this merit rating and has Felix Coetzee up, albeit from a wide draw.
The Colin Scott yard is in form and Chic Happens has been close up over this distance recently despite having had to come from wide draws. He is well drawn this time.
Julie Dittmer said that Clear The Clutter couldn't find a way through in both of her last two starts when not disgraced over 1 400m so she could earn.
First ’N Fast has improved with blinkers, reeling off a hat-trick, but is six points higher than her last win. Say You Will ran a cracker when considerably out at the weights in her penultimate start over this distance and has a chance if repeating that effort. Java Spice has a chance for a yard that has turned the corner. In the sixth, Mr Premier has his first run for the Kumaran Naidoo yard. He is a difficult horse who ducks from the whip but the whip was not carried last time and after staying on the rail he won well. The whip will not be carried again and he can get on the rail again from his good draw.
Royal Day, Dongola, Cool Kanoora, Hold The Gold and White House all have form chances here in an open race. Ferrie described Jo Piper as a “nice horse” and she has some fine 1 600m form that makes her the one to beat in the seventh.
He added that Rise Again’s last run can be ignored.
River Moy has her second run after a rest and is well drawn, while El Jadida has won her last two over this 1600m distance.
Tree Of Perfection wasn’t disgraced in the Grade 1 Garden Province last time and waltzed clear in a 1 450m event before that. She is well drawn with Felix Coetzee aboard. Autumn Splendour beat River Moy by a length last time but is 2kg worse off here. The Alec Laird-trained Lorne Cottage made a good debut when dwelling and green and should appreciate the step up in trip in the last over 1 600m. Chingola looks the main danger while By Gum could improve for a now in form yard as she banged her head on the stalls badly last time and that run can be ignored. Welsh Kitten hasn't been showing much in work, while Githany has distance question marks and is going to need the run.
