David Thiselton
The Riaan van Reenen-trained A Daughter’s Legacy, ridden by Grant van Niekerk, caused an upset at Kenilworth lastFriday when winning the Listed Ladies Mile over 1 600m.
The Vaughan Marshall-trained Ladonna was beaten by A Daughter’s Legacy for the second time in succession over the 1 600m distance despite being 4kg better off from their last meeting.
The Mike Robinson-trained Tick Tock finished third with the Stephen Page-trained Filharmonica next best.
The unplaced favourite was the Yogas Govender-trained Winter Burst.
A Daughter’s Legacy, a four-year-old filly by Windrush, is also owned by van Reenen in partnership with GDR Eveleigh, FJ Louw, OPW Rossalind and CS Swart and was bred by D Cohen and Sons.
