For the smaller stable to take on the heavyweight yards like those of Mike de Kock and Dennis Drier that both did well during the month is not easy but the ladies stepped up to the plate to post good results at and near the top of the KwaZulu-Natal table.

Alyson Wright matched the winning total of the De Kock stable with seven wins but had a better winning strike rate while Wendy Whitehead matched the five winners recorded by the Drier yard but also with a better strike rate.

Alyson has done well since relocating to South Africa and a R1 win bet on all 26 of her runners in the month would have given punters a profit of R62.60.

With her relatively limited equine resources her performance during the month was excellent and worthy of the monthly award.
