Owner of the Month

KNUT ALBERT HAUG

Having been involved with horses since a child and having owned the Kings Valley Stud, Knut has the blood of the racehorse running through his veins. Returning to the sport as an owner about four years ago, he now has 23 horses in training with leading Kwazulu-Natal trainer Dennis Drier.

Over the years he has been involved with many top horses having won the Cape Of Good Hope Derby some 18 years ago with Comareen and twice won the Grade 1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship with Sydney’s Dream and Private Reserve.

During October he won at Greyville with Sarasini and at Scottsville with Storm Alterno and is looking forward to even greater success in the future.

“At the moment I am only winning maidens but it’s a start and we are hoping for more success in the future.”
