With top riders like Anton Marcus, Robbie Fradd and Anthony Delpech operating in the region and representing some of the country’s top stables, it is not easy for any rider to upstage them and Marcus and Fradd were in top form in the month with 10 and nine winners respectively.

But Alec showed he is up there among the best and during the month booted home 11 winners at a 22.45% winning strike rate.

Punters following his mounts with a R1 win bet on each would have been happy with the R32.90 profit on their investments.
